Jazz with Bob Parlocha

why we recommend amazon, CD universe, and alibris for jazz CDs
on bob parlocha's top 40 new releases
jazz stuff categories

Jazz CDs, books and videos

PROs: For people who buy CDs online, Amazon is probably the super store of online shopping for books, music, and videos. (We've checked out others.) Nearly all of the jazz CDs that Bob Parlocha recommends can be found at Amazon's music store. We like that you can read the album descriptions and customer reviews, see what else they bought, listen to samples, see the covers, and get other details about the CDs. They have good prices and discounts.

CONs: Amazon seems to have trouble getting the latest releases from small recording labels for several weeks. Or they may sell the CD, but have no description or other information for a long time.

CD Universe - Music, Movies, & Games At Low Prices!

PROs: For the few jazz CDs that Amazon doesn't carry for a long time or doesn't have enough information about, we sometimes are able to locate at CD Universe. CD Universe's website offers album details, audio samples, and cover art. They also have good prices, sometimes better than Amazon's prices. They also seem to be able to get many of the imported CDs faster than Amazon can.

CONs: Could use more descriptions and customer reviews.

Hard-to-Find Music at CD Baby

PROs: We like CD Baby for some of the albums by independent artists that Parlocha recommends. CD Baby's website has extensive album details and artist information, audio samples, and cover art.

CONs: Prices can be on the high side.
