Co- led by saxophonist Bobby Watson and drummer Victor Lewis, Horizon was one of the best bands of the 1990s. Watson, trumpeter Terell Stafford and pianist Edward Simon went on to lead other groups, and bassist Essiet Essiet and Lewis are very much in demand as sidemen. They are back together for this Palmetto recording and they haven't missed a step. Crisp ensemble playing, strong solos, good tunes and interesting time games make this CD a delight. I hope the reunion is not just a one time thing.
