Over the years, many listeners have suggested that I start a website, but I was reluctant for a couple of reasons.

One, I felt that the syndicated radio show was enough. I see jazz music as the complete magilla. Musicians record it, I present it, and you listen. It does whatever it does for us and that's the deal.

Second, I felt that beyond the music, I had nothing to sell and therefore nothing more to say. The things I did and do say were more out of the necessity that I am required to fill two 2-minute spots every hour with a rap, so I talk about what the music means to me.

As a child, I had a tendency to talk to myself, much to the concern of my parents. I transferred this style to radio, and to my surprise, some people wanted to hear more!

I have also found that there are things I want to say about the music that don't fit into the context of the show. My philosophy of programming is that I present what I feel is the best, and you draw your own conclusions.

In the years that I have been nationally syndicated, I have come to realize that, contrary to mass media's opinion, there is a significant potential audience for mainstream jazz and jazz matters. So, together with several talented members of my family, we launch JAZZWITHBOBPARLOCHA.COM.

While we do not enter this venture to make a great deal of money, turning a profit is not undesirable. Therefore we will offer jazz products and links to other sites that offer jazz merchandise. However, our accent will be on information about recordings, publications, musicians, and live gigs. These days, the business of jazz often gets to be more business than jazz. While there are many in the industry who see nothing wrong with this, I find it appalling. At this website, you may consider me the jazz police, and that is a title I will carry proudly. I might not be correct in everyone’s eyes, but the opinions I express here will be based on my real thoughts. While is it not my purpose to be offensive, I have learned over the years that my thoughts often do offend others. I can only hope that I can be as real and honest as the music played on my show. That music, in my opinion, represents mankind's finest hour.
